KOCHI, FEB. 1. Students of the Government RLV College, Thripunithura, continued their agitation raising various demands, including the academic problems. The students blocked the college staff and teachers from entering the campus on Tuesday morning. The police, later, removed the blockade. Student leaders said that they were given the assurance that a meeting would be convened on February 7 in Thiruvananthapuram to discuss their demands. The meeting will be attended by all officials concerned, including the Additional Secretary to the Department of Collegiate Education. Another meeting will be held prior to it on Thursday at the Collectorate, Kakkanad, in the presence of the District Collector. The college Principal, Vanaja Shankar, said that a decision on the demands raised by the students would be taken only at the Government level. The student leaders, including the college union general secretary, M. Vinay, said that the students were withdrawing the public agitation for the time being. He said that the students would, instead, focus on agitation at an academic level.
