HYDERABAD, FEB.1. The British Library here is currently undergoing an "amazing transformation" as part of the modernisation programme and will be ready by mid-March, according to the Minister, Cultural Affairs, British Council, Edmund Marsden. The British Council Library network in India, spread across 11 cities, was the largest of its worldwide operations. The Council was coming out with a wide range of services and new learning material for young professionals and those on the threshold of careers.
Online service
An English language learning self-access programme, modules for soft skills and basic finance for managers were being offered. "In the next three to four months, we will be launching a standalone online service for learning English for people who want to improve their English and personal competitiveness at offices," he explained. He said the online membership introduced here as a pilot project was a big success and the same would be replicated.
