THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, FEB. 1. Counsel for the former Transport Minister A. Neelalohithadasan Nadar today argued before the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court II, Sreekala Suresh, that the case involving Mr. Nadar and the former Transport Secretary Nalini Netto was fabricated. The case is that Mr. Nadar had attempted to outrage the modesty of Ms. Netto in his office at the Assembly complex on December 21, 1999. The fact that Ms. Netto was waiting for the Minister at his chamber indicated that Mr. Nadar did not summon her, counsel said. It was further argued that if the alleged incident had taken place Ms. Netto could have immediately filed a complaint before the Assembly Speaker or any of the 140 MLAs as the Assembly was in session at the time. But instead, a complaint was filed before the Chief Minister only on February 9, 2000, nearly 50 days later, the day the Cabinet decided to transfer Ms. Netto from the post of Transport Secretary citing dereliction of duty, counsel pointed out.
