HYDERABAD, FEB. 1. An amount of Rs. 1.40 lakhs, two motorcycles and four cell phones were recovered from their possession, the Inspector, M. Chandrashekhar, said on Tuesday. Following the spurt in scooter dickey offences from August last, plainclothesmen were deployed at banks to keep a watch. On Monday, the constables noticed four men moving under suspicious circumstances and alerted Mr. Chandrashekhar and Detective Sub-Inspector, N. Saidulu, who rushed there and apprehended them.

The arrested -- Rakesh Kumar Thakur (32), of Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, and Bunty Gwala (24), Mithun Gwala (19), and Amar Gwala, 24, all natives of Padapokar village in Jelpaigudi district of West Bengal, confessed to have committed 18 offences in and around the twin cities. Rakesh Kumar came into contact with one Chandan, and the duo resorted to stealing money from scooter dickeys.
