COIMBATORE, FEB. 2. The LG Sports-JK Tyre driver development scholarship programme was a big success as more than 25 drivers from all over India participated. The programme was conducted by Akbar Ebrahim at the Kari Circuit here recently. The scholarship was given to the top two in the Cadet, Junior and Senior categories in the Rotax powered 2 stroke karts and the top four in the Formula LGB class. This will be applicable to the winners provided they register for the full season in the JK Tyre-Rotax Max Indian Challenge Series 2005 and the JK Tyre National Racing Championship in 2005. The top two Cadet winners will get Rs.7,500 per round and the top two Junior and Senior winners Rs.10,000 per event. The top four winners in the Formula LGB Class collect Rs.10,000 per round. All these drivers will now come under the personal guidance of Ebrahim. Ebrahim has also been requested by theAMRC Club of Sri Lanka to train its drivers, who are arriving at the Kari Circuit on Feb. 3 to participate in the three-day training programme.
Rotax 2 stroke karts: cadets: Hendez Manning (Salem); Nikhil Keshav (Bangalore).
Juniors: Ajay Kinni (Chennai); Dishali Patel (Mumbai).
Seniors: Varun Sharma (Delhi); Abhishek Varma (Bangalore).
Formula LGB cars: Gaurav Gill (Delhi); Varun Sharma (Delhi); Fazal Khan (Bangalore); Aditya Akineni (Hyderabad); Anmol Rampal (Delhi).
