CHENNAI, FEB. 2 . About 165 students of standard IX and XI from Corporation, Government aided and unaided schools participated in an essay contest on AIDS awareness recently. The students were asked to write on the topic ``Role of students for an AIDS-free India.'' Of the 206 schools invited for the second round of the contest, 98 responded. Each school was asked to send one student from each class. There were four prizes in each category, with all participants receiving certificates. In the first round 65 corporation schools participated. In third round, 370 matriculation higher secondary schools will participate on Thursday (Feb 3) at Vincent Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Railway Colony, near Nelson Manickam Road in Aminjikarai. The Vepery-based Genesis Welfare Trust (Ph. 55195926) organised the programme.
