Venkaiah meets junior Acharya

CHENNAI, FEB. 2. The former Bharatiya Janata Party president, M. Venkaiah Naidu, today called on the junior Kanchi Sankaracharya, Sri Vijayendra Saraswati, in the central prison here. The Acharya is in jail in connection with the Sankararaman murder case.

Accompanied by the State president, C.P. Radhakrishnan, and the former Union Minister, S. Thirunavukkarasar, Mr. Naidu spent about 20 minutes with the Acharya.

Answering newspersons' queries, Mr. Naidu said Sri Vijayendra Saraswati was hale and healthy. He was performing poojas. The BJP leader said the Acharya had told him that God exists and truth will triumph.
