Man bludgeoned to death

BANGALORE, FEB. 2. A four-member gang allegedly bludgeoned a man aged about 30 on the Old Central Jail premises in the Upparpet Police Station limits on Tuesday. The police said that at about 9 p.m. the four persons dragged the man into the jail compound through Y. Ramachandra Road and smashed his head with a boulder, killing him instantaneously. An employee of a private travel agency that parks its buses on the road reportedly witnessed the killing and alerted the police.

Hacked to death

A real estate agent was chased and hacked to death in the Ulsoor Gate Police Station limits on Wednesday. The police said Shankar (30), a resident of Katriguppe, was attacked with swords by a four-member gang at Nagarthpet around 8 p.m. Shankar was rushed to NIMHANS where he was declared brought dead. The police said Shankar, against whom there were several criminal cases in Banashankari Police Station, was on his way to his brother's shop in Nagarthpet when he was murdered.

Woman dies

A woman, Shabana Taj, who was riding pillion with her husband on a scooter, was killed in a road accident near Sirsi Circle around 11.15 p.m. on Tuesday.
