Isolated rain

over Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI FEB. 3. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, coastal Andhra Pradesh and south interior Karnataka. Dry weather prevailed over Rayalaseema, Telangana, Lakshadweep, coastal and north interior Karnataka.

Mancompu (Alapuzha dt.), Sankarankoil (Tirunelveli) and Coonoor recorded rainfall of 5, 2 and 1 centimetres respectively.

The minimum temperature rose markedly to appreciably at one or two places over Kerala, north interior Karnataka, rose at one or two places over interior Tamil Nadu, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, rest north interior Karnataka, fell at one or two places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and changed little elsewhere over the region.

They were appreciably below normal at a few places over Telangana, below normal at one or two places over rest Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh, appreciably above normal at one or two places over interior Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, above normal at one or two places over rest Tamil Nadu, Kerala, coastal Karnataka, north interior Karnataka, rest Telangana, rest coastal Andhra Pradesh, rest Rayalaseema and were generally normal.Nizamabad recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 13 degree Celsius in the plains of the region.

FORECAST (valid until Saturday morning): Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Mainly dry weather will prevail over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, coastal and north interior Karnataka.
