Jordan confirms Narain as driver

LONDON, FEB. 3. Indian driver Narain Karthikeyan and Tiago Monteiro of Portugal were named on Thursday as Jordan's drivers for the 2005 season.

Narain and Monteiro will be driving their first Formula One races when the season opens on March 6 in Melbourne. Jordan sporting director Trevor Carlin has seen Narain compete in various Formula competitions. ``He's very competitive and a super-quick driver,'' Carlin said.

Jordan plans to run its 2005 Toyota-powered car for the first time at Silverstone on February 7. — AP
