CHENNAI, FEB. 3. The President of the All India Chess Federation (AICF), N. Srinivasan, has nominated D.V. Sundar, currently Vice-President, AICF, and International Master Neeraj Kumar Mishra, presently Secretary, Jharkand state CA, to carry out the functions of secretary and treasurer respectively of the AICF in addition to their existing office. Mr Srinivasan said in a press release that in view of the Madras High Court orders restraining Ummer Koya and Soumen Majumdar from functioning as secretary and treasurer and with a view to ensuring that the federation's activities continued without impediment, he had invoked the powers vested in him under bylaws of the Federation's constitution. He said the arrangement would stand until the next general body meeting. It may be recalled that Mr Justice R. Balasubramanian had passed an interim injunction restraining Mr Koya and Mr Mazumdar from officiating or interfering with the activities of the AICF on the application by the Secretaries of the Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Maharashtra chess associations. Mr Koya has also been restrained from functioning as FIDE vice-president and Commonwealth Chess Association chairman. Our Special Correspondent
