Nellore
By Our Staff Reporter
NELLORE, FEB. 3. The police, here, led by the DSP, D. Narasimha Reddy, have unravelled the mystery behind so-called robbery and finally exposed the complainant, who lodged a bogus complaint with the authorities. According to the DSP, who was camping at Tirupati, as part of investigation, Ramalinga Reddy, an aqua trader of Nellore, lodged a complaint with the police on Wednesday night that he was waylaid while coming from Chennai and miscreants relieved him of about Rs. 18.50 lakhs. Based on the complaint, the police started investigation and during the course of probe, came to the conclusion that it was a bogus complaint. On interrogation of the accused, it was found, that Ramalinga Reddy, while coming from Chennai, handed over about Rs. 18 lakhs to his relatives at Tada. To make the police believe and to paint a dark picture, he reportedly broke the window panes of his vehicle and smeared parts of his body with blood, making it appear that he was harmed by miscreants. It has been stated that the accused is indebted to a tune of Rs. 30 lakhs and the `complaint' might be a ploy to escape from repayment of the debt. On investigation, the police also found, that an associate of the accused took another Rs. 8 lakhs from a party at Chennai and are searching for him.
