TIRUPATI, FEB. 3. The SV University College and the hostels attached to it were closed indefinitely from Thursday following tension on the campus in the wake of NSUI activists assaulting some inmates of the C-Block hostel. Negotiations between college authorities and the striking hostel inmates over the issue, which went on till last night reached a stalemate. While the agitators insisted that they would not accept anything short of the culprits' dismissal in view of their `dubious track-record,' the College authorities are dragging their feet. Meanwhile the College authorities hope the college and hostels would be re-opened within a week.
