ANANTAPUR, FEB. 3. The district police on Thursday arrested five more accused in the Paritala Ravindra murder case, who surrendered to the police on February 1. Based on their confession, the police also recovered four weapons--two carbines, a revolver and a pistol--and three countrymade bombs. They are P. Narayana Reddy, one of the shooters in the Ravindra killing, M. Obi Reddy, who provided logistic support in the operation, and V. Konda, V. Seena and V. Ranganayakulu, who had allegedly helped the three-member action team by hurling bombs and creating passage to enable the shooters flee without any obstruction.
14 days remand
All the five arrested were remanded to judicial custody by the Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate here for 14 days. Giving the details the Superintendent of Police, R.S. Praveen Kumar, told newspersons here that one of the carbines (KU-4) belonged to Subbaiah, the AR constable from Kurnool who came here as a security guard to B. Shobha Nagi Reddy, and the pistol belong to a gunman of Paritala Ravindra. The two weapons were snatched away by J. Srinivasa Reddy, the alleged main shooter in the killing and P. Narayana Reddy, the covering shooter, while fleeing the TDP office after committing the crime on January 24.
Confession
As per the confession of Narayana Reddy he had also participated in the killing of B. Prabhakar, the then MPP of Kanaganapalli and close associate of Ravindra, in August last and in the murder of M. Venkateswar Rao alias RK, the mentor of Ravindra, in Bellary, the SP stated. Narayana Reddy first met Suri in Cherlopalli jail in August 2004 along with Damodar Reddy and was in continuous touch with Suri later on cell phone. The two again met Suri a month later and were instructed by the latter (Suri) to liquidate Prabhakar. Accordingly, Damodar Reddy, Narayana Reddy and Srinivasa Reddy, were provided shelter in Rudrampet area by Obi Reddy and hatched the plan to kill Prabhakar. They had made 18 countrymade bombs to kill Prabhakar with the plan to bomb his vehicle after stopping it with two jeeps. However, based on the information provided by Obi Reddy and Bhaskar Reddy on the movements of Prabhakar, Srinivasa Reddy and Damodar Reddy shot dead Prabhakar in Anantapur on September 5. The three fled to Hyderabad and Obi Reddy handed over the weapons to one person with concealed identity on the instructions of Suri. After a few days Srinivasa Reddy and Narayana Reddy went to Bellary and met Damodar Reddy, who was already waiting there. The three shot dead RK in October second week. The three again met in Sanman hotel in Shakar Mutt area on December 8 on the plan of killing Ravindra. Srinivasa Reddy and Narayana Reddy reached Anantapur on December 27 and met Obi Reddy the next day and stayed in Chakravarthy Towers till January 10 and left for Hyderabad on that night. Along with Rekhamaiah they reached Anantapur again on January 16 and left after completing the given task on January 24.
