Kerala pips Karnataka

TIRUR, FEB. 3 . Host Kerala defeated Karnataka 4-1 via the tie-breaker and entered the final of the all-India postal football tournament at the Municipal stadium here on Thursday.

The penalties had to be enforced since both the sides failed to score either during the regulation period or at extra-time. In the shootout, T. Jobish, A.K. Mohammed Thariq, V.A. Shinu and P.V. Ashique converted for the home side, while only B. Venkatesh could find the net for Karnataka.

Earlier in the first semifinals, Bengal blanked Tamil Nadu by a solitary goal scored by T. Ballav.
