Four held in Kumbakonam

THANJAVUR,
FEB. 3.
The police arrested four persons for allegedly kidnapping Rajendran, a Singapore citizen, at Kumbakonam last night.
The arrested persons were Velu, Karthikeyan, Manimuthu and Mohan. According to the police, Rajendran, a share broker, allegedly took Rs. 92 lakhs from a doctor of Salem, Muthukumar, two years ago to invest in shares. However, he failed to return the money.
On receiving information that Rajendran was in Chennai, the doctor allegedly sent some persons after him. Rajendran was kidnapped and brought to Kumbakonam. He managed to inform the police that he was being held in a lodge. The police rescued him andarrested the four persons. They were remanded to custody.
