KOLLAM, FEB. 3. Excise officials from the Chathannur Circle arrested Prem Nazir from Kallumthazham here on the charge of possessing a narcotic substance. The officials said 60 grams of charas was seized from him. The Excise inspector, B. Suresh, said the seizure and arrest followed a tip-off. He said the seized charas was valued at Rs. 60,000 in the international dope market.
`Many customers'
Mr. Suresh said Nazir had many customers and the charas was supplied to him by Thangaraj from Tamil Nadu. The charas was shaped into tablets of a gram each. Nazir was produced before a court in Chathannur and remanded.
