AHMEDABAD, FEB. 3. Vithhalbhai Pandya, the octogenarian father of the slain Gujarat Minister of State for Home, Haren Pandya, today claimed that BJP workers were "instructed" by the Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, to "avenge" the Godhra train tragedy . Deposing before the G. T. Nanavati and K. G. Shah Judicial Inquiry Commission probing into the Godhra train carnage and the post-Godhra communal riots in the State, Mr. Pandya claimed that Mr. Modi and a Deputy Minister in his Cabinet, Prabhatsinh Chauhan, who hails from the same Panchamahals district of which Godhra was the district headquarter, were present at a meeting at Lunavada, near Godhra, soon after the train carnage. He said at least 55 BJP workers attended the meeting in which Mr Modi "instructed" them to avenge the Godhra killings and send them to different parts of the State for the purpose.
