Leaders pay homage to Annadurai

CHENNAI,
FEB. 3.
Leaders of political parties paid homage to C.N. Annadurai on the occasion of his 36th death anniversary today.
The Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, led the ruling All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in paying floral tributes to Anna here.
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, led by its president and former Chief Minister, M. Karunanidhi, also paid homage to the party founder.
Volunteers of the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, led by Vaiko, general secretary, took out a silent procession from near the Periyar statue on Anna Salai. They passed along Walajah Road, Triplicane, before reaching the Anna Square, where leaders placed wreaths.
The former Union Minister, S. Thirunavukkarasar, and other Bharatiya Janata Party leaders placed wreaths at the Anna Samadhi.
The former Minister and MGR Kazhagam president, R.M.Veerappan, also paid homage at the memorial.
In Coimbatore, the Dravidar Kazhagam president, K. Veeramani, garlanded Annadurai's statue at Gandhipuram.
