MANGALORE, FEB. 3. The district branch of the Indian Dental Association will hold the Regional Dental Students' Scientific Convention on Friday at K.S. Hegde Medical Academy auditorium, Deralakatte. A press release issued here on Thursday said the president of the association, Bhagwanth Singh, will be the chief guest. The president of Nitte Education Trust, N Vinay Hegde; the Dean of A.B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Sridhar Shetty; and the principal of Yenepoya Dental College and a member of the Executive Committee of the Dental Council of India, B.H. Sripathi Rao, will be the guests of honour. Various inter-collegiate competitions including essay writing, collage/poster making and other contests have been arranged for the morning session followed by a scientific session to be addressed by eminent personalities in the field of dentistry, the release said. More than 600 interns, final and third year students from dental institutions in and around Mangalore will participate in the convention, the release added.
