KOCHI, FEB. 3. Seven persons were arrested by the Thrikakkara police on charges of robbery. According to the police, this group of seven threatened Vincent, 65, who was a caretaker of a house and plot owned by C.V. Kuruvilla near Thengode. The group forced open into the house after threatening the caretaker and robbed Rs. 2,150 and also took away arecanut and pepper stored in the house. The robbery was committed on January 17 and the accused were arrested from Thrissur on Wednesday night. All the accused belonged to Thrissur district. They have been identified as Shaji, 19, son of Narendran, Padathil Veedu; Anil alias Anil Kumar, 31, son of Kuttan, Kandankuzhi Veedu; Thilakan, 24, son of Unnichekkan, Ambattuparambu Veedu; Rajneesh, 23, son of Supran, Kanjiraparambil Veedu; Rajeeb alias Reji, 24, son of Abu, Nalakath Veedu, Rajesh, 19, son of Lalitha, Pappali Veedu; and Baby, 37, son of Pailan, Olekattil Veedu. The accused were produced before the Judicial First Class Magistrate I (Aluva) and were remanded to Aluva sub-jail today.
