THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, FEB. 3. The police have arrested a 38-year-old man for impersonation and for cheating a mother and son by promising them jobs in Government departments. According to the Medical College police, the accused has been identified as Rahul, a resident of Anisudha Bhavan, Aralamoodu in Neyyattinkara taluk. The accused collected Rs. 2.52 lakhs from Prabhakumari and her son Aneesh after convincing them that he was an employee of the Secretariat and that he was one of the members of the personal staff of the Minister for Tourism, K. C. Venugopal.Rahul demanded another Rs. 4,000 from Aneesh for issuing the appointment letter. The duo sought the help of local residents when Rahul did not provide the appointment letter as promised even after they handed over the money. The police took Rahul into custody.
