Isolated rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI, FEB. 4. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Kerala coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and south interior Karnataka. Dry weather prevailed over Telangana, Lakshadweep, coastal and north interior Karnataka.

Kavali recorded a heavy rainfall of 7 centimetres

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimeters are:

Lakkavali (Chickmagalur dt.) 3, Cuddalore, Coonoor, Polur and Chengam (Both Thiruvannamalai dt.), Tarikere (Chickmagalur dt.) and Chickmagalur 1 each.

The minimum temperature rose appreciably at one or two places over Telangana, rose at one or two places over rest Telangana, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal and south interior Karnataka, fell at one or two places north Tamil Nadu and changed little elsewhere over the region.

They were appreciably above normal at one or two places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, coastal and south interior Karnataka, interior Tamil Nadu, above normal at many places over rest Tamil Nadu, at a few places over rest coastal Andhra Pradesh, at one or two places over Telangana, Rayalaseema, Kerala, below normal at one or two places over rest Telangana and were generally normal over the rest of the region.

FORECAST (valid until the Sunday morning): Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Mainly dry weather will prevail over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and coastal Karnataka.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change.
