NEW DELHI, FEB. 5. The Chairman and Managing Director of Wipro, Azim Premji, today said he had not drawn any succession plan for the company and termed as `baseless' the reports over the issue. "The report (on succession plan) is completely out of context. We are talking on HR review and planning process. What has that got to do with succession,'' Mr. Premji said on the sidelines of a Confederation of Indian Industry sponsored lecture here. "There is a succession plan for everyone in the company,'' he added. There were reports in a section of media that the Wipro chief had drawn a succession plan and disclosed the contents of it to the board recently. Delivering the lecture on "Creating world-class enterprise with diverse growth engines,'' Mr. Premji said the large youth population in India provided a `golden opportunity' to leapfrog into the club of developed nations as the West was ageing. "An ageing West would increasingly depend on Asian countries including India to keep global engine running and thus these countries need to increase investment in human capital to reap the opportunity coming their way,'' he said. Identifying four pillars quality, direction, sensitivity to various cultures and leadership essential for making an enterpise `world-class,' he said "world-class enterprises require world-class leaders at all levels.''
