Shia women float personal law board

LUCKNOW, FEB. 5. Shia women have floated their separate personal law board, barely a few days after the formation of All-India Muslim Women Personal Law Board.

The All-India Shia Muslim Women Personal Law Board, floated yesterday, will work for educating Shia women of their rights as per the Shariat, arrange marriages, work for their education and facilitate their progress and development, the Secretary, Tilat Rizvi, said here.

As the issues concerning Shia women were different and they had been neglected both by the All-India Muslim Personal Law Board and the newly-formed Shia Personal Law Board which gave them no representation, we decided to set up a separate board, Ms. Rizvi said. — PTI
