Arokiaraj takes title

MANGALORE, FEB. 5. Paul Arokiaraj of Chennai Port Trust bagged the individual title in the XIVth major ports chess championships organised by the Major Ports Sports Control Board and New Mangalore Port Trust here on Saturday. He secured 6 points in 7 rounds and topped the individual trials.

Final placings: 1. Paul Arokiaraj (CPT, 6), 2. P.P. Insulkar (Mormagoa, 5.5), 3. V.M. Khodiar (Kandla, 5.5), 4-7. Shirish W. Hingle (Mumbai), D.N. Kandalgaonkar (Mumbai), Lakshmi Narasimha (Chennai), R. Baburao (Vizag) 5.
