JAIPUR, FEB. 5. The 14th Hadoti industrial fair started in Kota over the week-end with a call to entrepreneurs to take initiatives in various sectors and contribute to the development of Rajasthan. The State Government's support to their endeavour was assured on the occasion. The State Parliamentary Secretary, Bhawani Singh Rajawat, inaugurating the 10-day fair, pointed out that the exports of handicraft products from Rajasthan during the previous year were of the order of Rs.1,800 crores. "The contradictions in the sales tax were removed in the Budget in order to provide relief to entrepreneurs and facilitate industrial growth,'' he said. Mr. Rajawat said the State Government had finalised the drafts of new industrial, export and trade policies and was considering giving concessions in sales tax and incorporating a special economic package in the policies. All attempts would be made to strengthen infrastructure for industrial development, he added. The Kota Divisional Commissioner, J.C. Mohanty, said the city had played an important role in industrial development of the State with many big industrial houses establishing their units.
