Case against Medha Patkar

MUMBAI, FEB. 5. Police have registered an offence against Medha Patkar, social activist, for violating prohibitory orders for assembly of more than five persons without prior police permission.

Ms. Patkar, who is leading an agitation against the demolition drive undertaken by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Coroporation against slums after 1995, was booked under the relevant sections of the IPC, police said here today. — PTI
