Local body leaders quit en masse

KARIMNAGAR,
FEB. 6.
In the wake of the naxalite threat, elected representatives of local bodies and Congress leaders of Manthani division announced their resignation en masse on Sunday.
According to reports reaching here, the Mahamutharam Mandal parishad president, Kistaiah, the Kamanpur Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency member, Y. Sashirekha, six MPTCs, the mandal Congress presidents, L. Durgaiah and K. Maruthi, and 20 others announced their resignation.
The leaders said they were forced to resign from their posts following the threat from naxalite in the wake of blasting of the house of the Congress Mandal Parishad President, Bapu Reddy, at Bommapur of Mahadevpur mandal on Saturday.
