Partly cloudy sky forecast

Monday's skies will be partly cloudy, according to the weather forecast. The minimum temperature is likely to be around 18 degrees Celsius.

On Sunday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 18.7 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity stood at 38 per cent.

At the Airport, the maximum temperature was 29.5 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 18.2 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was recorded as 32 per cent.

Coaching classes

The SC/ST Amelioration Committee of Bangalore University will conduct coaching classes for KAS and training programme for research students from February 10 to 25. Interested candidates can contact the office of the special officer, SC/ST cell, Janabharati Campus, on or before February 8.

Orientation programme

The Field Testing Station will conduct orientation programme on testing of PVC cables from February 14 to 18. This will highlight the test methods as per IS: specification with theory and practical classes. ITI (Elect.)/ Diploma holders, freshers and experienced entrepreneurs can contact Deputy Director/ Assistant Director Field Testing Station, Rajaji Industrial Estate. Ph: 23202540.

Sanctioned

The Department of Science and Technology of Bangalore University has sanctioned Rs. 75 lakhs to the Department of Geology for the establishment of X-ray fluorescence machine and accessory equipment under Fund for Improvement of S & T infrastructure in Universities and higher education institutions (FIST) scheme. This equipment is useful in the investigation of rocks, minerals and natural substances.
