Workshop

to be held

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, FEB. 6. The Directorate of Ayurveda Medical Education, in association with the departments of Swasthavritha and Kayachikitsa, will organise a two-day seminar and workshop on `Natural disasters and its management' here on February 8 and 9. The Minister for Health, K. K. Ramachandran, will inaugurate the seminar. The seminar will discuss various aspects of disaster management from the perspective of ayurveda and the role of ayurveda in re-building the habitat in an eco-friendly manner.

Official visits Sainik School

P.K. Rastogi, Joint Secretary (Training), Ministry of Defence, visited Sainik School, Kazhakkuttom on Sunday. The school's NCC contingent accorded him a Guard of Honour. Mr. Rastogi was shown around the school campus, the science, mathematics and computer laboratories, school library and the living quarters of the cadets. A special lunch was hosted in the cadets' mess in honour of the visiting official.

Office-bearers elected

T.A. Das has been elected the charter president of Lions Club of Thiruvananthapuram Space City, Kulathoor Jayakumar as the secretary and V. Rajan as the treasurer.

Temple festival

An area in the radius of 2 km from Puthukulangara Sree Bhadrakali Temple at Vellanad has been declared as the festival centre from February 18 to 27, in connection with the annual festival at the temple.
