Veiled threat?

Sir, — The statement by the CPI leader, A.B. Bardhan, that the UPA Government at the Centre will not last five years if it does not go by the Common Minimum Programme (Feb. 7) is disturbing. The Left parties cannot work in isolation and govern the country. Instead of issuing veiled threats, the Left should suggest ways of overcoming the differences and strengthening the rapport among the UPA partners.

G. Stanley Jeyasingh,
Nagercoil, T.N.
