Goa affairs

Sir, — The proposed agitation by the NDA, Jamir hatao, loktantra bachao, on Tuesday to protest the dismissal of the Parrikar Government is amusing. If anything, the Speaker, Vishwas Satarkar, should have resigned as a mark of protest if his claim that the Governor did not wait for his report on the vote of confidence is true.

Sir, — It would have been more appropriate if Governor S.C. Jamir had dismissed the Goa Assembly instead of installing another government.

Sir, — That Goa has had 14 Chief Ministers since 1990 speaks to the nature of politics in the State. The turn of events should serve as an eye-opener for the voters.

Gudivada, A.P.
