Sad commentary

Sir, — The picture of an undertrial signing the nomination papers with his handcuffs on for the Patna West Assembly seat (Feb. 5) is a tell-tale commentary on present day politics! It is unfortunate that more persons with criminal charges are finding their way into the sacred premises of the temple of democracy ostensibly to uphold the law.
