CUDDAPAH, FEB. 7. Activists of the CPI(M) staged dharna before the Collectorate on Monday decrying the hike in foreign direct investment (FDI) to 74 per cent in the telecom sector. Disinvestment from public sector undertakings would be resisted through agitations, the party's district executive members, K. Anjaneyulu and C. Babu, said. KURNOOL: Activists of the CPI(M) led by the district secretary, T. Shadrak, staged a protest at the Collectorate here against the rise in FDI in the telecom sector. Mr. Shadrak said the Government was trying to surrender the telecom sector, which was making profits and had even expanded to remote areas.
