Eastern Railway posts win

NEW DELHI, FEB. 7. Vinod Sewa helped Eastern Railway score an easy 2-0 win over South East Central Railway in the first round team championship match of the 51st all-India Railway tennis championship at the DLTA Complex here on Monday.

The results:

Team championship: Central Railway bt South Western Railway 2-0 (Aditya Madhekar bt Prakash 6-1, 6-2; Aniket bt Jude Vincent 6-0, 6-0); South Central Railway bt DMW 2-0 (Jagadish bt Yashwinder Singh 6-0, 6-0; Y. Arafat bt Paramjit Singh 6-0, 6-0); South Eastern Railway bt Railway Board 2-1 (Ram Kumar bt R. Badri Narayan 6-0, 6-0; Rahul Kapur lost to V. Sankar 4-6, 2-6; Ram Kumar/Dilip Kumar bt V. Sankar/R. Badri Narayan 6-1, 6-1); Eastern Railway bt South East Central Railway 2-0 (Vinod Sewa bt Hunold Poul 6-1, 6-0; Siddharth Verma bt Henry Santiago 6-0, 6-0).
