BANGALORE, FEB. 7. Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL) will display some of its export-oriented products at Aero India 2005. The equipment to be exhibited include those for communications, command and control systems, radars and Sonar, opto electronics, thermal imaging products, tank electronics, simulators and trainers and gun upgrades. The communication equipment on display will include UHF handheld trans-receivers, secure tactical radios in VHF band, handheld radio terminals and others for use by the armed forces. The command and control systems have been made for use by the artillery, air commands and intelligence services. BEL works in close cooperation with DRDO laboratories to cut down cycle time from concept to product through concurrent engineering. Some of the radars and Sonar jointly developed with DRDO, which will go on display, include a battlefield surveillance radar for short-range use, a portable ground-based radar for the Advanced Light Helicopter, a radar warning receiver, a helicopter-borne Sonar and a Doppler Weather Radar developed in association with ISRO. The opto electronics and thermal imager devices will include night vision goggles, night vision weapon sights, an imaging system for observation and fire monitoring by artillery and a portable laser target designator. Tank electronics on display will be a fire control system for armoured vehicles, advanced land navigation system and tank intercom systems.
