JAIPUR, FEB. 7. A team of Executive Directors of the World Bank, which visited Jaipur on Sunday, emphasised on the need to speed up the projects being implemented in Rajasthan with the Bank's assistance to benefit various target groups. It assured the State Government of full cooperation in the development initiatives. During an interaction with the Chief Secretary, R.K. Nair, and Secretaries of various departments, members of the team agreed that the State had diverse needs of development in view of its difficult geography. An official release issued here quoted them as saying that the World Bank would consider the State's special requirements of assistance. The Executive Directors were apprised of the progress of the District Poverty Initiative Project, District Primary Education Project, Water Sector Restructuring Project, Health System Development Project and Energy Restructuring Project on the occasion. The Secretaries of respective departments made the presentations before the team. Mr. Nair pointed out that the State Government was paying special attention to sectors such as drinking water, education, power, irrigation and health care in its policies and programme implementation. A large number of voluntary organisations had been involved in the execution of education and health care schemes, he added.
