CBI seeks slain MLA's post-mortem report

By Our Staff Reporter

ANANTAPUR, FEB. 7. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the Paritala Ravindra murder case, has asked the district police for the post-mortem report of the slain MLA.

Authoritative sources in the police said the report was likely to be out in a day or two.

Meanwhile, the doctor who had conducted the post-mortem, Prabhakar Rao, told mediapersons who contacted him on Monday that he was asked by the District Magistrate (Collector) to complete the exercise on January 24 itself -- the day Ravindra was murdered -- as the atmosphere was surcharged. Accordingly, he had removed only one bullet from the body. The police sources too said the post-mortem was rushed through in view of the volatile situation.

On the chances of the CBI asking for a re-post-mortem, the sources said the question would arise after the first post-mortem report was handed over to them.

Meanwhile, sources close to Ravindra's family said the CBI officials, had, in fact, asked for a re-post mortem. The sources said family members of Ravindra were against re-post-mortem as it went against their sentiments.
