Mala leaders criticised for ignoring clan

By Our Special Correspondent

TIRUPATI, FEB. 7. P.V. Rao, State president of the Mala Mahanadu, on Monday lashed out at the MPs, MLAs and other functionaries belonging to the Mala sect for their alleged indifference towards the cause of their clan.

It was time they were taught a lesson, he said addressing a meeting in the SVU senate hall here organised under the Mala Vidyarthi Sangham.

He said though the upper castes irrespective of their party affiliations used the SC vote bank to their hilt to come to power, they never allowed them to share it with them cornering all posts and positions. He regretted that at a time when the two major sects of the SCs in the State should stay united and fight for their due share, they were playing into the hands of vested interests who were bent on dividing them in the name of `categorisation'.

The State general secretary, Yerramala Ramulu, was present. The State general secretary of Mala Vidyarthi Sangham, K. Chengaiah, presided.
