MADURAI, FEB.7. The Commissioner of Municipal Administration, Hemant Kumar Sinha, held a discussion with the officials and elected representatives of Madurai Corporation and 22 municipalities in Madurai region on solid waste management here recently. He said that the Tamil Nadu vision plan on SWM was accredited as the best in the country. Stating that the new proposal of SWM in Madurai region was estimated to be Rs.11 crores, he said money was no constraint for the project. Mr. Sinha sought suggestions from the elected representatives to improve the SWM. The Madurai Corporation Commissioner (in-charge), C. Rajamani, the Regional Director of Municipal Administration, Balachandran, were among those who participated.
