High command to be apprised of Karunakaran's stance

By Our Staff Reporter

KOCHI, FEB. 7. The Congress leader K. Karunakaran's comments against the Oommen Chandy Government would be taken up with the Congress high command for disciplinary action, said A.C. Jose, vice-chairman, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee, here today.

Instead of criticising the Oommen Chandy Government as "most corrupt", the senior leader should point out where exactly governance needed improvement, Mr. Jose said.

He said the era of groupism in the Congress was over. "No one can gain a berth by being part of one group or the other. Mr. Karunakaran seems to be talking for those who are shifting group loyalties frequently," he added.

With panchayat elections round the corner, the senior leader should not make remarks that may mar the party's prospects, Mr. Jose said.
