THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, FEB. 7. The All India Youth Federation (AIYF) has urged the Chief Minister to conduct an inquiry into what it called the "clandestine" disposal of six unidentified bodes of tsunami victims by the Medical College authorities. The bodies had washed ashore on the Poonthura, Valiyathura and Thumba beaches on January 2. In a petition, the federation president, P.K. Raju, and the secretary, Manoj B. Edamana, alleged that the authorities had buried three of the bodies in the hospital compound, while the fate of the three other bodies remained unknown. Before disposing of the bodies, the authorities should have informed the public about it through the media, the petition said. The departments concerned had committed a grave injustice to the relatives of several tsunami victims who were still hoping that their loved ones would come back, the petition said.
