HYDERABAD, FEB. 7. The State Government will extend 4 per cent relaxation in power tariff to industries with effect from April 1 this year. This was announced by the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, today while inaugurating the infrastructure facilities provided by the Nacharam Industries Association at a cost of Rs.25 lakhs. The facilities in the association building include a conference hall, a committee room, a library and a canteen. Members of the association, representing 340 units in the Nacharam Industrial Area spread over 700 acres, donated the amount. Referring to the demands submitted by the association, Dr. Reddy assured that the Government would appoint a committee to look into them. The demands raised by the association include increased share of property tax and profession tax remitted in the industrial area, non-collection of betterment charges as the layout belongs to APIIC, sanction of Rs.8 crores from the Industrial Infrastructure Development Fund for water/drainage facilities in the industrial estate and permission to run e-Seva counter in the industrial area. Ministers P. Lakshmaiah, Sabita Indra Reddy, Principal Secretary, Industries, K.V.Rao, Commissioner of Industries,S.Bhattacharya, APIIC Managing Director, L.V.Subramanyam, and the Ranga Reddy Collector, Premchandra Reddy, attended the function.
