Man killed

A gang, comprising at least 12 persons, killed a rowdy-sheeter, Mir Khasim Ali Razvi, at MM Pahadi under the Rajendranagar police limits on Sunday night following previous enmity.

The police said that 32-year-old Razvi, along with his four associates, were discussing some issue at MM Pahadi when the gang led by another rowdy-sheeter, Murtuza, armed with iron rods, swords and hockey sticks, allegedly charged towards Razvi and his men.

They allegedly caught hold of Razvi, attacked him with the weapons and smashed his head with a boulder. He died instantly.

Later, some of the accused reportedly turned up at the police station and are believed to have surrendered.

Fake forms: two arrested

Two persons, who were allegedly preparing fake forms for obtaining driving licences, were arrested by Task Force sleuths at Mangalhat on Monday. The accused are -- Jalaluddin Qureshi of Nimboliadda and M. Bhasker of Jali Hanuman.

Boy drowned

A class seven student, Ch. Vamsi Krishna (13), who went for fishing at a pond at NTR Nagar in Kukatpally drowned on Sunday. A resident of Asbestos Colony, Krishna was the son of an auto-rickshaw driver, Kishan.

Cash bag snatched

A motorcycle-borne miscreant snatched a bag containing Rs. 60,000 from a retired RTC employee under the Malakpet police station limits on Monday. The police said that Manikyal Rao withdrew the amount from Andhra Bank at Dilsukhnagar and was on his way back home on his two-wheeler when a person waylaid him, snatched the bag and fled on his motorcycle.

Dies in hospital

A servant maid, M. Krishnaveni (35), who reportedly consumed poison after administering it to her two daughters on February 3, died on Sunday while undergoing treatment.

While one of her daughters, Sneha (13), died a couple of days ago, 10-year-old M. Nagamani is still undergoing treatment.

Two die in accidents

An employee with AP Foods Limited, A. Suresh (32) died while his friend P.R. Jacob is in a serious condition after the motorcycle on which they were travelling was hit by another motorcycle on the Nagarjuna Sagar road on Sunday night.

A salesman, V. Mahendar (22), died on the spot after the motorcycle he was driving was hit by an unknown vehicle near Ramanthapur polytechnic college on Sunday night. His friend, P. Srinivas who was seated behind, escaped with injuries.

Eve-teasing: seven arrested

Sleuths of West Zone Task Force team nabbed seven persons on charge of eve-teasing at Mehdipatnam on Sunday. The police seized three cell phones from them. All the accused are aged between 18 and 24 and belong to Tandur of Rangareddy district, according to a press release.
