UGC conference on federalism from Feb. 10

NARSARAOPET, (GUNTUR DIST.), FEB. 7. A national conference on `Federalism and Coalitional Governance in India: Emerging Challenges in Centre-State Relations", sponsored by University Grants Commission, will be organised by the PNC & KR Degree College, here on Thursday and Friday.

The former Governor of Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka, V.S. Ramadevi, will inaugurate the two-day conference to be attended by many senior professors of political science, administrators, and researchers from universities all over the country, the conference director, D. Sundar Ram, said in a release on Monday.

The former IT Advisor to Government of Andhra Pradesh, Tripuraneni Hanuman Chowdary, would deliver the keynote address, while Acharya Nagarjuna University Vice-Chancellor, L. Venugopal Reddy, would preside over the inaugural session, he said. The conference would focus on dynamics of federalism, role of Governor in Indian federal system under Article 356, Centre-States relations and regional political parties.
