BANGALORE, FEB. 8. The European giant in aircraft manufacturing, Airbus Industrie, is contemplating the setting up of a training centre in India, most probably in Bangalore. The company is still undertaking studies on the feasibility, location, etc., of the training centre. Airbus has training centres at Toulouse in France, Beijing in China and Miami in the U.S. Disclosing this at a press conference here today, the Regional Press Manager of Airbus, David Vellupillai, said the project itself is in the initial stages and details will be made known when something concrete happens. Mr. Vellupillai announced that Airbus is tying up with Bangalore-based VidhyaCom Technologies to provide engineering services and illustrations for A-380 aircraft. It will help create illustrations and drawings that go into various A-380 technical manuals, with the work to be performed at its development centre here. Mr. Vellupillai said that Airbus is also holding discussions with Indian Airlines to replace older aircraft. Indian Airlines now flies 44 Airbus A-320 aircraft.
