THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, FEB. 8 . The Congress leader K. Karunakaran today challenged the State Government to file a charge sheet against the party MLA, Shobana George, in the forged document case. Addressing a press conference here today, Mr. Karunakaran said that after subjecting a woman legislator to mental torture and arresting her in the case, the Government has been unable to file the charge-sheet. "This is tantamount to a violation of the oath of office by the Chief Minister, who is also the Home Minister," he remarked. Ms. George is one of the accused in the forged document case in which she had been charged with conspiracy to topple the Antony Government. "The Government knows how to withdraw a case. Didn't it withdraw the palmolein case? The charge-sheet should be filed or the case should be withdrawn," Mr. Karunakaran said.
