Salim, Srinidhi triumph

PUDUKOTTAI, FEB. 8. Osama Salim of Chennai won the boys' title with a tally of 9 points in the 18th Tamil Nadu State chess championship for boys and girls (u-9) for the Dolphin Trophy conducted by Pudukottai District Chess Association here on Sunday.

Mugil Jayavel of Chennai and Ja. Gireman of Coimbatore tied for the second place with 8.5 points. Mugil Jeyavel was placed second on better progressive score and Ja. Gireman was placed third.

In the girls' section, Srinidhi Nagarajan of Salem won the title with 11 points. G. Uma Bharathi of Chennai finished runner-up with 9.5 points. U. Ashwini of Chennai and M. Thejaswiny, also of Chennai, tied for the third place with 8 points each. U. Ashwini was placed third on better progressive score.
