Sanjay begins well

PUNE, FEB. 8 Sanjay Kumar overshadowed his more famed compatriot and defending champion Vijay Kumar to grab first day honours in the Rs. 10 lakh Hero Honda Open West 2005 at the Poona Club Golf Course here on Tuesday.

The Lucknow professional carded a four-under 67 day to set up a one-stroke lead over Ranjit Singh of Chandigarh at the Open, which forms the 13th leg of the Amby Valley PGAI Tour. — UNI
